Folago Becomes MiniMax’s Sole Indonesian Distributor, Targeting 500 AI Micro-Dramas a Month

PT Folago Global Nusantara Tbk (IRSX) has signed Chinese AI company MiniMax as a strategic partner and become MiniMax’s sole distributor in Indonesia, with a target of producing up to 500 AI-based micro-drama titles a month, Bisnis.com reported on October 26. Folago president director Subioto Jingga and Hu WeiQi, head of MiniMax’s B2B business, signed the agreement in Shanghai the same day.

The deal covers three lines of business: AI-made content, sales of AI tokens to corporate customers and direct users, and distribution of the resulting work. Folago will use MiniMax technology to make micro-dramas, vertical series with episodes of roughly one to three minutes, as well as films and advertisements, through its subsidiary PT Folago Artificial Intelligence Commerce. Token sales will run through KreasiKita, a Folago platform whose ecosystem the company says spans more than 250,000 digital creators and 125,000 e-commerce affiliates, while content will be distributed via FolaPlay and other platforms at home and abroad. Subioto described the company’s role as an AI Token Factory for Indonesia.

Founded in early 2022 and listed in Hong Kong since January 9, 2026, MiniMax makes the Hailuo video generator, MiniMax Audio and its M series of language models. It reported first-half 2026 revenue of US$116.6 million, up 283% year on year, with about 60% earned outside China. Hu said Indonesia’s strong creator community makes it a promising market.

What it means in practice

Bisnis notes that efficiency gains will depend on production scale, usage costs and demand. The bigger question may be oversight. In a separate Bisnis report the same day, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria warned that AI mini-dramas containing pornography, sexual violence and gambling content are spreading and steering users to weakly filtered platforms. He said the Film Censorship Institute (LSF) has about 110 people reviewing 40,000 films a year, and that AI can help spot scenes but not judge context. A studio producing hundreds of AI titles a month will meet a ministry that is studying mandatory labels for synthetic content and has signalled that sector-specific AI rules are coming.

Folago, listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, previously signed a strategic partnership with Seedance and says it wants KreasiKita to offer several AI models on one platform.
